February 2009
Wow! Has January flown by! During this past month, we have had the opportunity to learn about snowmen, snowflakes, mittens, and winter/arctic animals! We even had the chance to see a real skinned bear!
We have a lot to look forward to in February. Some of the topics we will be covering are groundhogs, St. Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, and Healthy Bodies. We also have a Valentine’s Day snack sign up sheet hanging next to the bulletin board, outside of our room. Please feel free to sign up to bring a special snack for the week of Valentine’s Day! ©
We have also started some new things inside our room. We are trying to fill our empty jar with MARBLES (i.e good behaviors- cleaning up after themselves, following directions, etc.)!! When we accomplish this, we will be having a special day in our room. We will also be doing monthly behavior charts. This will be sent home at the end of each month to keep you updated on your child’s behavior for the month.J
Thank you to all the families who participated in the marshmallow homework. The miniature marshmallows look amazing outside the Monkey room. This month’s homework is to help your child make a Cat in the Hat body and hat. This will be a great addition to help celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday, which is March 2nd. Please take the time and complete this as a family. Due date is February 17th.
Thank you for your time! Talk with you next month,
-Ms. Jena & Ms. Charity
